World AIDS Day
Today, the world marks World Aids day... December the first.
I just watched 48 on AIDS by Royston Tan... it's really touching. Sometimes it is the skepticism, sometimes its the discriminative stance... but mostly it has to do with the lack of education. The campaign ought to concentrate on spreading what AIDS exactly is... I myself must profess that I know only limited amounts. To accept the HIV positive, the society should be able to distinguish that the disease is not something that some of them caused by their own actions. It may be by birth... it may be by blood infection or others. I recall this segment of the documentary about a family of 4... the children had to take medicine from young as their parents are HIV positive... and the mum, in administering the medicine for the little kids, always feels heartbroken about having given birth to them... it's really heartwrenching. Another was about adopting a HIV positive baby... I believe what the family did was a brave decision. The society should stand by them and support them.
On this day, I really hope everyone who reads this blog, would just take a minute of your busy schedules, and spread a world about AIDS... it's a disease that may become an epidemic... it's a disease that needs to be understood... let's start accepting...
