My 21st Birthday

On 30th... my 21st birthday officially is this day.

I went for a breakfast with my family. My dad returned to thailand to work, shortly after my party... he had flown back to attend and to plan my birthday party. Yup! As I was saying about the breakfast... yah... me ate with my Bro, Sis and mum and treated them to 旺角 which sells stuff like that at Ya-kun. I think the french loaf toast is really nicer than the others lah... ha... the eggs also very nice too.

After breakfast I went to buy a cake. It is interesting in that I bought a heart-shaped pink cake from 4 leaf... I have been buying this cake for her for the past few years and with the "edible" "happy birthday" sign too. Yup...

After buying, i went back with my mum, bro and sis and I had lunch. After lunch went out to plaza singapura area to meet Renjie, his wife and some SSS exexcutive members. I think they had a meeting at YMCA. ha... at first was due to watch "meet the fockers" but later not enough time to watch otgether. Yup... so ended up at food court eating deserts. :)

After eating I went back to school with Meiju and met a SMU-x girl onboard. we had a conversation as Mejiju knows her... yup... so three of us strolled up the bukit timah slope to school... I met with the UNSA and SA-SMU guys to discuss efforts to aid the victims of the Tsunamis... we eventually settled on a first week of donation drive (bringing tin cans right into the class for donations)... and also some material collection in the second week... the first week would be all the key CCAs in SMU joining forces to achieve the donation target. I'm quite optimistic of reaching the target. Oh... yah... i'm in charge of coordination of the volunteers.

After discussions, I went to Orchard to meet Gan Ann and her friend. Ha... lucky I somehow managed to get my Taiwan army friend out... two of us had a good talk and yah... it's really nice to spend my birthday with a guy who was born on the date "she" was born. My friend and I had a heart-to-heart talk about all the issues under the sun, right from management, leadership to relationship.

I reached home around 11pm and had my birthday cake.

Goodnight! Happy 21st! :)

29th... an evening of rememberance & nostalgia

On 29th... I met with benson for lunch. He's now w the N/P on internship. Ha... met in orchard for makan and we had NYDC... ha... it's kinda like my first official NYDC lunch! Yup... tried the set lunch and the baked rice was nice but a bit sweet... yes.
Two of us were army friends and have not met each other for quite some time since the last time I sent him off to Australia for studies. Yup... time has passed by so quickly... it's going to be another year soon and we are 3.5 years to graduation!

After eating lunch, I went back to school to reformat my T41 IBM! Ha... it's my second reformating. Glad YV was there to accompany me through the laborious and boring process. Ha... the administrator (a student employed by CIT) was there to assist throughout... and interestingly I met this administrator the previous day on the 28th at the YEP proposal presentation to the E-cube people. So I started reformating around 230pm and ended around 5pm... ha... it's only reformating and not inclusive of resetting the configurations!

After the reformating was done I went out to eat with YV... ha... she didn't know the route out from the back of the Botanic... "guess you learn something new everyday". Yup. We went to coronation & I showed her around... ate the 可爱鸡 for dinner with barley. Ha... it reminds me of the TCHS and HCJC days and the interesting was the Hwachongnians eating at the adjacent tables... one of the HCJC-ians know YV and it sparked off a short but funny and interesting conversation of HCJC... ha... I think i'm 4 years their seniors! :) Wow! That is ammazing! ;)

After eating we strolled to Hwa Chong JUnior College... went through the canteen, up to the auditorium, the library, my CCA rooms... walked past the classrooms and LTs... all the way to TCHS... ha... :) YV was great company & i hence felt at ease to share my stories of HCJC and TCHS... the funny, the dumbo, the sad, the happy, the many many moments there! :)
From the street soccer courts... the CCA blocks... the art block... the field, science & computer labs... to the clock tower and the hall... my old cca rooms again... the canteen and some interesting marble table with shakeable marble chairs! Ha... oh yah... we also walked to the boarding house and played with some "see-saw" thing along the way there. It was my first visit to the boarding house. It looks very much like the PGP in NUS, really posh and high class kind of apartment style. Oh... yah... we had lots of fun talking and all throughout the visits... and I think somehow we share some interestingly similar likes & dislikes... ha... ^5! :)

After the swimming poool we walked out and I sent her across the bridge. It was really pleasant to spend a day recollecting memories of Chinese High and Hwachong... but sadly the school names are going to change... but the past moments, glories and everything shall remain etched in me in the names they once were and would always seem to me as being. Thanks YV for spending the evening with me... appreciate a lot!

The visit to TCHS, HCJC... bitter, sweet memories.

My 21st Birthday

Decided to blog! After about half a year of hiatus, I'm back! Yes... to blog!

On 26th December I had my 21st Birthday party. It was held at Aloha Changi Chalet D. I even created a website specially for it. http://www.geocities.com/dikun83/Birthday.htm yup! I was glad my family returned from various countries for the event: I actually returned about 7 days ago (on Friday midnight, 17 Dec) from China, Yunnan. I had been there for my Youth Expedition Project... we went to Feng Yu Village in Da Li. Yup. As for my mum & bro, they went to S korea for holidays and returned around 8 Dec. My Sis went cambodia for her YEP... returned recently too. As for my dad who worked for quite a while in Thailand, he flew back on 24 Dec I think. :) Yup... so my family all back for my birthday!

The place was near the beach and had a good sea breeze. I had planned quite a bit of decoration (but the tea lights were not lit up as the wind was too strong)... I was glad renjie, Dianliang, Meiju and Baoqin came down earlier... yup... not much I could ask them to help with but their pressence was really great support! My relatives were there early. The estimated number of guests at the end of the day was more than a hundred! Yes... a 百人宴. Yup... I really am very honoured so many people turned up.

Oh... for my friends... there were Lawrence, kiongseng, jenming & yuhchian among my juniors from TCHS String Orchestra... then for my HCJC String Ensemble there were Shengyong, Daniel, Jean & tzeching. yup. I was glad my HCJC 00S65 came too... & so did my three adorable juniors from 01S65 who are now in SMU... ha... as my seniors! I think the only problem was that I was too caught up in hosting different groups that I could not have enough time for any particular group. Yah... from SMU i got my YEP friends (yeh... Bless Yunnan 2004 guys)... and my SA camp mates... and some friends (Yinchao, fred...) & my UNSA committee friends too! :) Yeh! It was fun!

We played sparkles... had some BBQ & a buffet. Interestingly there was also the pyrotechnics & some fun stuff like that lah. At around 9pm I cut the cake & took photos. It was really quite chaotic but yet rather systematic as each group took photos. Yup... then eat cake and had some liquor... ha... a bit tipsy from the cups and cups of baileys and liquor lah... yup... but out of good fun.

The guests streamed out later. My SA camp mates were really nice in staying behind to accompany me... thank you girls! so did some YEP friends... yeh... especially thankful to renjie for staying and taking the photos. Ha... I'll upload the pictures when I get them yah? Anyway Cindy, Renjie, Meiju & I had quite a carefree chat along the beach at around 3am... ha... super romantic place but yah... "she" was not there though. I am really grateful to my friends who came for the party... for their support... and being there for me! :) Thank you guys!

Morning was dreamy as I slept around 4:30am and woke up around 7am to have a bath. Had breakfast with 3 of them & I sent them off. Ha... it was really nice & heartwarming to think of the pleasant people who stayed. :) Thanks!

After going Tampines Mall, while sending meiju & renjie to tampines, I went back to the chalet to rest... ha... slept a while before I prepared to rush out for another event.

At Le Meridian, Victor had his 21st Birthday dinner. Yup. the food was good & I think the guests enjoyed. :) I particularly liked the ice-cream. Yummy. I think I am having a bad stomach from the over-eating. Ha... nevertheless I really glad to have gone for the birthday dinner.

Went back to the chalet yesterday night & stayed over there and checked out today.

Oh yah... the "coining SMU" project presentation was held today. The fundraising team of the YEP came up with the proposal to tie in with the school moving. I'm hopeful the project would be a great one... ha... would be there to assist. :)

Tomorrow & the coming week I'll be resting, going out, practising my violin... ha... :) Adieu!

*a bit disappointed that I didn't eventually go thailand to meet Z... missing a friend*.
